CEO/FOUNDER, WAYFINDER FAMILY CO.
My name is Jessica Porté, Founder and Consultant with Wayfinder Family Co., an organization focused on supporting children and families navigate grief, change, and loss. With over a a 12 years of experience in nonprofit, I have worked with children, teens, and families with life challenges related to grief, substance-use disorder, foster care, and other loss that impacts your community. I’ve worked with over 30 school districts in the Riverside and San Diego County area providing trainings, group facilitation, resources, crisis response, and consulting. As a consultant, I specialize in developing programs, curricula, trainings.

As a Grief-informed Coach, 1 in 12 children are impacted by the death of a parent or sibling in the United States by the time they reach 18 year old (CBEM, 2023). That number more than doubles by the age of 25 years old. What we know is that loss of a significant person in childhood cam greatly impact development, and adversity to stressors. What is also found is proper grief-informed support, education, community, resources minimize those impacts. I believe it is the responsibility of caregivers, community, and leaders to develop a grief-informed lens to support the outcomes of our future. I offer education and programming to families who are struggling after a loss to navigate the “now what” of life after death.

If you are an organization that works with children and families, you see the need come across the family’s you serve as they encounter a loss. Support your organization by developing leadership with a grief-informed lens. As a Consultant I specialize in:

– Trainings related to family systems, grief (death and nondeath related), and substance use disorders

– Program Development

– Strategic Planning

– Intervention and Curriculum Building

– Resource and Network Building

– Support Group Facilitation

I hold my Master of Arts in Leaderschip with a Bachelors in Psychology. I am a member of the National Alliance for Grieving Children, Coalition for Grieving Students, and volunteer with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I was a former Court Appointed Special Advoacate(CASA) for the foster youth in Riverside County and an active volunteer in our community.
